- Prepare 250 gms Rava Local -
- Get 1 Tomato large cut into small cubes -
- Get 3 - 5 nos chilies Green chopped finely -
- Use 15 gms Ginger chopped finely or grated -
- Take 1 sprig Curry leaves -
- You need 1/2 cup coconut Grated (optional) -
- You need 1/2 cup Corriander leaves chopped finely -

Instructions to make Tomato Uppitu:
- In the same kadai, over a medium flame, add the oil and when the oil is hot add the mustard seeds. When the mustard seeds splutter, add the channa dal an urad dal, curry leaves and chopped cashew nuts. Stir for a few seconds.
- Lower the flame and add the chopped tomatoes. Continue to cook until the tomato bits are soft(couple of min). Keep stirring the mixture.
- Now add the grated ginger and chopped green chilies and continue to stir for a few seconds.
- On a medium flame,add the water, cinnamon powder, crushed cloves, chopped coriander, salt, turmeric, and grated coconut and bring the water to a boil.
- Once the water starts to boil, remove the kadai from the flame. Now add the roasted rava, in a steady stream into the water stirring all the time to avoid the rava forming lumps.. mix well. place the kadai back on a low flame and cook, stirring occasionally until done.
- Serve with green chutney and or curds.
