- Use 4 pieces Hilsha fish
- Provide 3 tbsp Poppy seed-green chilli paste
- Get 3 tbsp Mustard paste
- Prepare 2 tbsp Coconut paste
- Prepare 2 tspn Curd
- Prepare 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- Provide 1/2 tsp Kalunji / nigella seeds
- You need 3-4 pc Green chillies
- Take to taste Salt
- Prepare 4 tbsp Mustard oil
Instructions to make Borishali Hilsha Bhapa:
- Rub some salt and turmeric powder on the fish piece and keep aside for 10min
- Curd should be properly beaten and put turmeric powder in it and mix well.
- Heat 4tbsp mustard oil in a pan and shallow fry the fish piece.
- Add kalunji/ nigella and green chillies for tempering.
- Add poppy seeds and green chillies paste and saute for 2min.then add the beaten curd.
- Add salt to taste.stir continuously and cook for 2min.
- Add coconut paste and mustard paste.and mix it well.
- Gently add the fish piece in the gravy, add few green chillies for flavour.
- Cover and simmer for 3-4min.turn off the flame.
- Drizzle some mustard oil and serve.
- Serve it hot with steamed rice.
