The ingredients needed to prepare Millet idli:
- Take 1 cup Millet /Bajra flour
- Take 1 cup Idli Rice
- Get 1/2 cup Urad Dal
- Use 1 tbsp Salt
- Use 1/4 tsp Soda
- Provide 1/2 tsp Black pepper grounded
Steps to make Millet idli:
- Soak idli rice for 5 hours. Udad Dal for 2 hours.
- In a mixer grind urad Dal to a fine batter, to this add rice and grind it. Add water if required or grinding is difficult.
- Take the batter in a bowl and add millet atta and mix well. Now add salt, black pepper, soda. Mix it well.
- If required add water make sure lumps are not formed. Batter should not be very thick or too much runny.
- Allow it to ferment for 8 Hours in a warm place.
- Grease the cups of the Idli maker. Pour the batter into each cup. Steam for 18 - 20 mins.
- Remove the idlis when slightly cool and serve with Sambar.
