The ingredients needed to cook Gojju Ambade:
  1. Provide For vada
  2. Provide 1/2 cup Urad dal
  3. Prepare 1 tsp Rice flour
  4. You need 1/2 tsp Asafoetida
  5. Use 2 Green chilli
  6. Provide 1 inch Ginger
  7. Use 1 tsp Salt
  8. Take 1/8 tsp Baking soda
  9. Get For gravy
  10. Get 1 cup Grated coconut
  11. Take 3 Red chilli
  12. Use 1/4 tsp Mustard seeds
  13. Take 1 tbsp Tamarind paste
  14. Get 1 tsp Jaggery
  15. Prepare 1 tsp Salt
  16. Take 3-4 cup Water
  17. Get 1/4 tsp Asafoetida
  18. Provide For Seasoning
  19. Provide 1 tsp Coconut oil
  20. Prepare 1 tsp Mustard seed
  21. Provide 1 Red chilli
  22. You need 1 strands Curry leaves
Instructions to make Gojju Ambade:
  1. Wash and soak urad dal for 1 to 2 hours.
  2. Grind the urad dal by adding little water until it becomes a smooth batter.
  3. Transfer the ground batter into a bowl. Mix the batter for 5 to 7 mins continuously with hand or whisk.
  4. Then add salt, finly chopped green chilli, ginger, asafetida, rice flour and baking soda. Mix well.
  5. Heat a pan/ cheenachati with oil for deep frying.
  6. When the oil gets hot, drop small balls of the ground batter into the oil and deep fry till it turns into golden brown in colour.
  7. Transfer it to a tissue paper and keep it aside.
  8. Now we can make the gravy/ gojju. In a mixer jar, add grated coconut, red chillies, salt, jaggery, mustard seeds and tamarind paste. Grind it to a smooth paste.
  9. Transfer the ground paste into a vessel. Add water, turmeric powder and asafetida. Then allow it to boil.
  10. In another pan, do the seasoning.
  11. Transfer the seasoning to the gravy.
  12. When the boiled gravy/gojju reaches the room temperature add the vadas into it.
  13. Soak the vadas atleast 2 hours.
  14. Enjoy this yummy soaked vadas!!!!!
