The ingredients needed to cook Gojju Ambade:
- Provide For vada
- Provide 1/2 cup Urad dal
- Prepare 1 tsp Rice flour
- You need 1/2 tsp Asafoetida
- Use 2 Green chilli
- Provide 1 inch Ginger
- Use 1 tsp Salt
- Take 1/8 tsp Baking soda
- Get For gravy
- Get 1 cup Grated coconut
- Take 3 Red chilli
- Use 1/4 tsp Mustard seeds
- Take 1 tbsp Tamarind paste
- Get 1 tsp Jaggery
- Prepare 1 tsp Salt
- Take 3-4 cup Water
- Get 1/4 tsp Asafoetida
- Provide For Seasoning
- Provide 1 tsp Coconut oil
- Prepare 1 tsp Mustard seed
- Provide 1 Red chilli
- You need 1 strands Curry leaves
Instructions to make Gojju Ambade:
- Wash and soak urad dal for 1 to 2 hours.
- Grind the urad dal by adding little water until it becomes a smooth batter.
- Transfer the ground batter into a bowl. Mix the batter for 5 to 7 mins continuously with hand or whisk.
- Then add salt, finly chopped green chilli, ginger, asafetida, rice flour and baking soda. Mix well.
- Heat a pan/ cheenachati with oil for deep frying.
- When the oil gets hot, drop small balls of the ground batter into the oil and deep fry till it turns into golden brown in colour.
- Transfer it to a tissue paper and keep it aside.
- Now we can make the gravy/ gojju. In a mixer jar, add grated coconut, red chillies, salt, jaggery, mustard seeds and tamarind paste. Grind it to a smooth paste.
- Transfer the ground paste into a vessel. Add water, turmeric powder and asafetida. Then allow it to boil.
- In another pan, do the seasoning.
- Transfer the seasoning to the gravy.
- When the boiled gravy/gojju reaches the room temperature add the vadas into it.
- Soak the vadas atleast 2 hours.
- Enjoy this yummy soaked vadas!!!!!
