The ingredients needed to make Palak paneer:
- You need 400 gms Paneer
- Prepare 4 tbsp Ghee
- Get 2 bunches Spinach
- Prepare 1 tsp Cumin seeds
- Use 1/4 tsp Hing / asafoetida
- Provide 2 tbsp Garlic
- Take 2 (finely chopped) Green chilies
- You need 1" Ginger
- Provide 1 Onion
- Provide 1 cup Yogurt
- Use 2 tsp Coriander powder
- Take 1 tsp Haldi powder / turmeric
- Use 1 tsp Black salt
- Prepare to taste Salt
- You need 2 tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder
- Prepare 1 tsp Roasted cumin powder
- You need 1 tsp Garam masala powder
- You need 2 Bay leaves
Steps to make Palak paneer:
- First of all take a pan and add water to it. Switch on the gas and bring it to boil. Then add spinach to it and when spinach is half way boiled add 2 tbsp of coriander leaves to it.
- Meanwhile we can fry paneer. Take some ghee in a pan and fry the cubes of paneer till it get an impression of brown colour on both the side.
- Once the spinach boiled. Add it to cold water so that it can retain it's colour.
- Add the spinach to the blender and make a fine paste.
- Heat ghee in a pan. Then add cumin seeds and hing to it. Let the cumin seeds flutter.
- Add garlic. Fry it for a minute or two. Then add green chilies. Again fry it for a minutes. Then add bay leaves.
- Then add sliced onions to it. Let the onions turns brown.
- Once the onions turns brown add yogurt to it. At this stage keep the flame on low. Fry the mixture till the ghee start separating.
- Now add haldipowder, coriander powder, black salt, salt to it. Fry it for another couple of ministers.
- Then add spinach and coriander leaves paste to it. Cook it for 2-3 minutes.
- Add finally add our paneer. Cover it add cook for 2-3 minutes.
