- You need 2 Pomfret Fish: big size
- Use 6 tbsp Mustard oil
- Take 2 onion : medium sized chopped

- I have used frozen fish here. So first of all I defrosted the fish and coated them with turmeric powder and salt. Then kept it aside for 15 minutes.
- Now it’s time to fry the fishes nicely until they turn golden brown in colour. Heat oil in a pan on a medium to high flame. Since these are sea fishes. They have a kind of powerful smell which may not be liked by many. In order to get rid of that you need to fry them really well.
- After that Remove the fishes from the pan and in the same oil add the chopped onions. Sauté them till they become translucent and then add ginger and garlic all chopped one after the other. Again sauté them nicely.
- Now it’s time to add turmeric powder red chilli powder, Garam masala powder and salt to taste. Also add the chopped tomatoes and the green chillies. Now mix all the ingredients for 2 minutes and then cover and cook for another 2-3 minutes till they are nicely done.
- Lastly uncover the lid and you will find that the spices are all done and the gravy starts leaving oil. At this point of time add a small cup of water. Once it comes to a simmer add the fried fishes and cover it for 2 minutes on a low flame. Allow the spices to enter the fish.
