- Grind coconut, roasted chana dal, fennel seeds, green chillies and garlic cloves together into a fine paste.
- Chop the onions finely.
- Boil the potatoes
- Soak the moong dal for 10 minutes and cook it for 2 whistles in high flame
- Heat oil in kadai then add mustard seeds,cinnamon stick, cumin seeds and bay leaf once the oil is hot
- Add onions and curry leaves saute it till the onion turns translucent in colour.then add ginger garlic paste and cook it for a minute.
- Add the cooked dal and mix it well. then add required salt and 1/2 tsp turmeric powder.
- Add the chopped boiled potato and cook well for 2 minutes
- Add coconut paste mix it and cook once it starts to boil turn off the stove
