The ingredients needed to prepare Chicken Kosha:
- You need 800 g chicken cut into medium pieces
- Provide 2 medium sized onions
- You need 50 g curd
- Use 1 teaspoon black pepper powder
- Get 5-6 cut pieces of papaya
- Take 1 inch Ginger pasted
- Use 7-8 cloves garlic
- Take 1 medium sized tomato
- Prepare 1 teaspoon chilli powder
- You need 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- You need 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- Provide 1 teaspoon Dhania powder
- Take 1 teaspoon Garam masala powder
- Prepare 1 cinnamon
- Get 3-4 cardamoms
- Get 2-3 cloves
- Prepare 2 bay leaves
- Prepare 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- Prepare 1 tablespoon ghee
- Take As needed oil
- Prepare To taste salt
Instructions to make Chicken Kosha:
- Clean and marinate the chicken overnight with curd, black pepper powder, mustard oil and papaya paste
- Heat some oil in a pan and saute the marinated chicken in low flame
- Heat another pan and add ghee into it
- Add the whole Garam masala, bay leaves and Jeera into it. Once they crackle add the onions into it and saute
- Once the onions turn golden add the ginger-garlic paste, tomato paste and saute again
- Once the masala is cooked add the powder masalas- Jeera powder, chilli powder, Dhania powder, turmeric powder and salt as per taste
- Once the masala is well cooked add the chicken fried earlier into this and mix well
- Add little water and cook till chicken softens. Add Garam masala and remove
- Serve hot with parathas
