The ingredients needed to cook Yamrita:
- Take 1 small yam tuber
- Prepare Cup flour
- Prepare 1 large egg
- Take Hot pepper and onions (chopped)
- You need Spring onions
- You need Seasoning
- Provide Food color (red)
- Prepare Oil (for frying)
Instructions to make Yamrita:
- Peel and cut the yam into your desire shapes and wash. In a big saucepan or pot add the sliced yam, salt and water then boil, when you pierce a knife into the yam, and it goes in without any restriction then it is cooked enough. You don’t want to over cook your yam if not it will fall apart. When the yam is done drain or remove the yam from the water.
- While the yam is boiling; in a small bowl, add flour, thyme, red food color, chopped pepper and onion, salt, seasoning powder, egg, water and whisk the mixture until smooth
- Heat enough oil in a fryer/pot over medium-high heat. Coat each yam in the yam mixture then fry until golden brown.
