- Take 2 onions(medium)
- Prepare 2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
- You need 1 tsp turmeric powder
- Use 1 tbsp red chilli powder
- You need 2 tbsp coriander powder
- Use 2 tbsp coconut powder
- Provide 1 tbsp poppy seeds
- Provide 1 tsp garam masala powder
- You need to taste Salt
- Take 1/2 cup thick curd
- Provide 1 tsp kewra water
- You need 200 ml oil
- Use 20-25 lotus seeds
- You need Whole garam masala
- Prepare 8-10 peppercorns
- Provide 4 green cardemoms
- Prepare 1 black cardemom
- Get 1 mace
- Prepare 6 cloves
Steps to make Mutton Kadahi with Lotus Seeds:
- Heat oil in a kadahi/heavy bottomed vessel.Add oil and heat till smoking point.Fry 1 sliced onion till golden brown,take out.
- Dissolve turmeric powder in 2 tbsp water,add to remaining oil,stir immediately.Add mutton to the oil and fry on medium heat for 5 minutes.Add whole garam masala also.
- Now add another sliced onion,red chillipowder,coriander powder and salt.mix well Cook for 2 minutes on low flame.
- Meanwhile grind fried onion,coconut powder,poppy seeds and curd.Make a smooth paste.
- Add this paste to mutton,mix well.Add 2 cups water,cover and cook on low -medium flame for 40 -45 minutes or till mutton is tender.
- Now add garam masala powder and lotus seeds.Mix and further cook for 2 minutes on low flame.
- Mutton curry is ready. Put off flame and leave for 5 minutes. Add kewra water.Mix. Mutton kadahi with lotus seeds is ready to serve.
- Serve with naan/parathe.
