The ingredients needed to prepare Dahi vada:
- Get 2 cup Urad dal / black gram lentils
- Provide 2 cup moong dal / yeloow lentls
- Take 1 tsp Baking soda
- Prepare as per taste Salt
- You need 2 tbsp Sugar
- Take 1-1/2 tsp Green chilli and ginger paste
- Take 5 cups Dahi / curd
- Use 2 tbsp Green chutney
- Prepare 4 tbsp Meethi chutney / sweet dip
- Prepare 1 tsp Red chilli powder
- Provide 1 tsp Roasted cumin seeds powder
- Take 1 tsp Chat masala
- Get 1 tbsp Coriander leaves
- Prepare 1 tbsp Pomegranate seeds for garnishing(optional)
- Get 5-7 Roasted cashewnuts: for garnishing
Instructions to make Dahi vada:
- First of all wash urad dal and moong dal 2 to 3 times. - Then after soak both the dal for 3 to 4 hours. - Drain out water from it. - Now coarsely blend it in mixy and make a smooth batter. - Check out that batter should be very fluffy and light texture wise.
- Add salt and green chilli and ginger paste to it. - Now beat the paste for 3 to 5 minutes continuously by adding baking soda to it. - Keep it aside for 10 minutes. - Again stir this batter occasionally.
- Now heat the pan. - Add oil to it. - Make medium size vadas and deep fry it on medium flame. - Now drop all the vadas in lukewarm water. - Let it be in water for 10 minutes.
- Now squeeze between palms to remove water from wadas. - Arrange it in a plate. - Now take dahi and beat it or whip it continuously till it becomes semi liquid paste(batter). - Now add salt and sugar to it and mix it well.
- Take a plate. - Arrange wadas. - Pour dahi on it. - Now garnish it with meetha chutney,green chutney,cumin powder,red chilli powder,coriander leaves,chat masala,pomegranate and cashewnuts. - And enjoy this mouthwatering dish friends.
