The ingredients needed to prepare Dahi vada:
  1. Get For vada
  2. Get 1 cup yellow moong dal
  3. Provide 1/4 tsp baking soda
  4. Use to taste Salt
  5. Take For vada stuffing
  6. Provide 1 tsp black pepper (coarsely powder)
  7. Provide 1 tbsp mix dry fruits (raisin and cashews)
Steps to make Dahi vada:
  1. Take 1 cup moong dal in a big bowl and wash it in running water for 3- 4 times. Than soak it at least for 3 hrs.
  2. After 3 hrs drain the water from dal and transfer it into mixture jar. Add very less water and grind it in a smooth paste.
  3. Batter should not be runny it should be in thick consistency. Take out batter in a mixing bowl add salt and baking soda in it.
  4. Now take Idli steamer plate grease it well, pour 1 spoon batter than put stuffing of black pepper and dry fruits and again 1 spoon of batter on it. Repeat the process for all vada.
  5. Place the steamer plate carefully in preheated steamer (water should be boiling) and steam it for 10 min.
  6. After 10 min check the vada, insert knife in it if came out clean than it's done otherwise steam it for 2 min more. After it's done completely take them out and put the vada in hot water for 10 min
  7. After 10 min squeeze the vada and place it on a plate put some chilled curd and temrind Chanty over it. Sprinkle some Chaat masala, salt and red chilli powder. Enjoy your yummy chilled dahi Vada…
