- Marinate the fishes with some salt and 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric.
- Heat some oil in a wok and deep fry the fishes. Keep them aside.
- In the same wok, add the cloves, green cardamom, cinnamon stick and bay leaf. Let them splutter.
- Add the chopped onion and the sugar to get caramelized.
- Fry the onions till it gets light brown in colour.
- Add the onion paste and fry it well.

- Beat the Yoghurt well and add it in the wok.
- Fry them very well until the oil separates.
- Add 1 cup of water and some salt as per taste. Bring it to boil.
- Add the fried fishes and cover it for a while.
- After you get the desired consistency in the gravy, add the garam masala powder and ghee.
- Garnish it with some coriander leaves and remove it from the flame.
- Serve hot.
